Decorative Mini Bark from Westland is a brilliant way to finish off small areas in your garden such as borders and beds, or planters, pots and containers. Bark chip is not just to look decorative, but acts as a mulch which supresses garden weeds, helps to retain soil moisture and during extreme temperatures it will help to protect plant roots. This decorative bark used as a mulch will also help to reduce rain splash at the soil surface which could potentially spread fungal spores to plant leaves.
Application Rate: Apply a generous layer as a mulch; 5cm (2in) or more is ideal. 50L of bark will cover about 1m² and should last for up to 3 years.
How do I use it?
When using on existing borders or beds, you will need to remove any weeds
and debris from the soil first and the soil will needs to be completely wet
before the bark is applied. You then spread the bark 5cm deep over the required
area ensuring the bark covers the root area of each plant and is applied under
the plant canopy.
