Stakes, Sticks and Canes (Sticky, Pointy, Pokey Things)

Tree stakes, plant sticks and bamboo canes are an essential part of gardening from supporting tall plants to building fencing. Stakes made of wood are ideal for supporting young trees allowing them to grow straight and reducing root damage from rocking. Small plant sticks can be used for indoor plants and flower stems such as Orchids and lilies.

Bamboo Canes

Bamboo canes come in a variety of sizes and have many uses in the garden. Bamboo canes are well known for being light weight and strong in Asia they are often used instead of metal scaffolding poles. Gardman bamboo canes are cleaned and handpicked to ensure quality standards are met.

Fencing Stake

Made from sturdy angle iron Gardman fencing stakes are ideal when creating more permanent structures in the garden such as fruit cages and screening. Each fencing stake is tapered at one end to allow them to be hammered into hard ground easier.

Gard Stake

Gardman’s Gard stakes are versatile and strong and can be used where traditional bamboo canes would not be suitable. Each Gard stake is made from plastic coated metal with ridges along its length to allow ties, clips and of course climbing plants to grip easier.

Hardwood Plant Stakes

Hardwood plant stakes are the little brother of our hardwood tree stakes range and are made with as much care and detail. The plant stakes are thoroughly dried and planed to keep them as straight as can be then sharpened to a point at one end for easier positioning in the ground. Hardwood plant stakes are ideal for supporting tall growing perennials or small bushes.

Hardwood Square Tree Stake

Gardman hardwood tree stakes are coated with a non-toxic preservative making them last longer in the garden. Hardwood stakes should always be used to support newly planted trees and large shrubs as the wind can rock the plant which cause root damage. Gardman tree stakes are manufactured from Forest Stewardship Council Certified (FSC) wood.

Net Stakes

Gardman net stakes are ideal for erecting fruit cages with a sharp pointed end and top clip for fixing net and wires these handy stakes will find all sorts of uses in the garden.

Plant Sticks

Gardman plant sticks are great for supporting flower stems and leaf stalks of tall plants. Plants sticks are great for greenhouse use too supporting young plants such as sweet peas and other annual climbing plants.

Chunky pressure treated tree stakes are the strongest in the range of stakes we offer. Round tree stakes are ideal for supporting newly planted trees and should be used with rubber tree ties.
