The Charles Ross Apple Tree produces some of the most versatile English Apples available. The large, late- VictorianEnglish apples are delicious when eaten fresh, but can also be used for baking as they slice really well. Due to their size and juicy characteristics, they’re also perfect for making your own apple juice! The sweet flavour is similar to that of a pear, but remains flavoursome all the same. The juicy flesh is light and becomes almost powdery as it reaches maturity. These “handsome” orchard apples ripen mid-season and produce a sweet and juicy flavour. If you’re looking for an apple that looks great in the fruit bowl, and tastes great either fresh or cooked, this is the perfect apple tree to grow them! The appletree itself is fully hardy and is best situated in full sun in your garden or orchard, making a great feature, especially when in blossom. When planting, remember to back-fill with soil mixed with a peat substitute and a suitable fertiliser.
