The Discover Apple Tree produces orchard apples suitable for eating fresh from the tree. This mid-season dessert apple has a fine textured, juicy flesh with a fairly sweet and pleasant flavour. The Discovery Apple is renowned for being very easy to grow, and has become a popular choice for supermarkets to encourage consumers to buy British again. The short shelf life of this apple means that it has to be picked at the right time to get the best out of it. The beauty of having your own apple tree is that you can pick the apples when they’re at their best, and not worry about buying them from the supermarket every week! The Discovery Apple Tree is fully hardy and is best planted in full sun and back-filled with soil mixed with a peat substitute and suitable fertiliser.
This apple tree requires pollination from either:
Apple Cox's Orange Pippin
Apple Egremont Russet
Apple Ellison's Orange
Apple James Grieve
Apple Lanes Prince Albert
Apple Laxton's Fortune
Apple Lord Lambourne
Apple Newton Wonder
Apple Worcester Pearmain
