Wild Bird Care - Bird Feeders, Wild Bird Food & Bird Boxes
We at Crowder’s understand you passion about caring for wild birds and so we dedicated an entire section in our shop just for this purpose. Helping a living creature survive is something very fulfilling and we humans are used to abundance of natural resources at our disposal while a lot of other creatures suffer especially birds which depend on the season.
There is something special with helping a poor creature get back on its feet, fly and reproduce another cycle of life in our own garden. Many people have forgotten this feeling as the busy life which is very normal today doesn't let us take a step back and enjoy the simple things. We are always rushing toward some goal and crushing everything that comes in our way, this is one of the reasons why people turn to animal help as a way to rehabilitate, get rid of stress and slow down the vigorous tempo of life.
It's part our responsibility to take care of wild birds as we have the biggest responsibility when it comes to destroying their natural habitat which directly causes a big deficit in food for many wild bird species.
How you can help in your own garden
You can help by setting up one of many available bird feeders from our Peckish, Town and Country and Gardman collections. These feeders and tables are suited for many different types of seed and will add a great sight in your yard. There is nothing more beautiful than having 2 adult birds taking care of their young ones in your own backyard with your help.
Make sure you place the feeder somewhere safe from other animals especially cats, this is a mistake that many people make and it ends up in a disaster. If you run into problems like a hawk stalking your bird feeder it's best to remove it for a couple of weeks or place it somewhere safer.
When it comes to types of food its best that you keep your bird feeder fairly stocked with high fat seeds especially during cold winters which are the toughest period for birds. Black sunflower seeds by Peckish are a great option because this food is easily digestible and provides a great metabolism boost which allows birds to stay warm during the coldest days. The birds love black sunflower seeds and they will come year after year to your feeder to get food. As for quantity it can vary depending on which season, typically during summer you don't need a lot of food.
Another important aspect of bird feeders and bird boxes is that you keep them clean and dry which prevents any possible diseases development. A very common mistake people make is that they have too much seeds that get wet and grow mold, birds often eat this and get sick. Make sure they you keep an eye out how much food you bring out and try to keep it as fresh as possible.
A rare hobby that doesn't take up too much time
Wild bird care is a great low maintenance hobby. Having wild birds in your backyard goes beyond only the great feeling you have when you help another creature survive, birds also help to keep your garden clean of insects and all sorts of pests. It's a win-win relationship, we encourage everyone to try wild bird care as a hobby, and you will not be disappointed. We wish you happy bird shopping.
