How much does delivery cost?

Our delivery costs depend on the size and weight of the item(s) you’re ordering, so that means we don’t have a standard delivery cost. To calculate the delivery cost for your order, please add the item to the shopping cart where it will show the cost and delivery options for your shopping. You won’t be asked for payment details at this stage, so you can easily cancel if you wish.

About your delivery
We use a courier service or Royal Mail Recorded delivery to ensure that your order reaches you quickly and in perfect condition. Because you’ll need to sign for your delivery, we recommend you get your items delivered to your work address if you’re going to be out all day. If you’re not around to sign for your delivery, a card will be left through your door detailing the local depot from which you can collect your order. In the event of an item being out of stock, we’ll email you as soon as possible to inform you of the delay.

Don’t want to wait? Pick up your item in store!
If you’d rather pick up your item in person, you can still order online and collect your purchases in store. This is available on all items, but please note that some items may not be available for you to collect on the same day. We’ll email you to let you know when your order is ready for you to collect.

How long will it take for my plants to arrive?

  • For plants that state 'Average 2 weeks delivery'

You may have spotted that some of the plants on our website take an average of two weeks to be delivered. This is because we offer such a large range of plants that we don’t physically have space to grow them all on site! We do our best to get plants delivered from our other growers in two weeks, but sometimes certain plants can take a little longer. If this happens, we’ll contact you as soon as possible to let you know. To speed up your delivery, we’ll start dispatching orders as soon as a reasonable number of plants and/or dry goods are available. If you need your plants to arrive sooner, give us a call and we may be able to recommend a similar plant from the Crowders nursery. Please note that the Speedy delivery option applies to plants as they come into stock – we’ll send them to you on the speedy delivery service as soon as they become available. If you choose plants on a 2 week delivery timescale, you will receive an email from us shortly after the order is placed, explaining all this to you.

  • For plants that state 'in stock'

These plants, should be available for immediate dispatch as normal, just like any other 'in stock' goods on our website. Sometimes, when coming to pick plants we do occasionally find that the last few in batch are not great quality, with them being live goods, so if this is the case, we will email you to let you know.

  • If you are ordering both 'in stock' and 'average 2 weeks delivery'

In this instance, we will hold all the items you have ordered, until everything is ready to send altogether. However, if some of the 'average 2 week delivery' plants are taking a little longer than 2 weeks, we will email you to let you know.

Why are bare-root hedging plants and trees only available for part of the year?
As you may have noticed, our bare-root plants are available from November to March. Bare root is only available at this time, because we have to wait for the weather cool, and the plants to be dormant before we can lift them out of the ground. Some of our trees are only available from September to February, and it will state on the page which ones these are. This is due to the growing cycle and when these trees will be potted on.

When can I expect my bare root plants to be delivered?
Bare root is dug to order so is not available for immediate dispatch the next day once the order has been placed. Once you have placed an order for bare root, we order it with our nursery. Your Bare root Plants will then take on average about 7 working days, until they are ready to be dispatched to you. Please note, this may take longer at the start of the season, as this is usually the busiest time for us. Once they have been dispatched, they will be with you in the next few working days, depending on the delivery option you have chosen.

When can I expect my Sept-Feb trees to be delivered?
These trees are grown on our own nursery, and are not available for immediate dispatch because we have to order them from there. So, from when you place the order, it usually takes 5-7 working days before they will be dispatched, but during busy periods this can take a little longer. We’ll inform you if there’s any delay.


Are there any areas you don’t deliver to?
Delivery service is currently only available to England, Wales and some parts of Scotland. If you require delivery to any of the following areas, please email us for an up-to-date quote, providing us with the delivery postcode and the items(s) you are looking to purchase.

·         Outer regions – postcodes including AB, DD, DG, EH, FK, G, IV, KA, KW, KY, ML, PA, PH, TD

·         Offshore:  Isle of Wight, Channel Islands, Northern Island, Scottish Isles, Isle of Man and Scilly Isles (BT, GY, HS, IM, JE, KA, KW, PA, PH, PO, TR, ZE)
